Challenge
The Oregon Buddhist Vihara faced a branding challenge as they sought to establish a distinct organization focused on fostering community unity around Sri Lankan culture, separate from their temple identity. They needed a logo that could effectively incorporate the symbol of Sri Lankan culture, the lotus while conveying a sense of harmony, unity, and balance. 
Solution
To address this challenge, a comprehensive branding solution was developed that seamlessly integrated the lotus symbol into the logo. The lotus petals were thoughtfully arranged in either a circular or square pattern, symbolizing harmony, unity, and balance. While the new organization stood independently from the temple, a cohesive brand identity was maintained through a harmonious color palette and carefully selected fonts. This design approach effectively bridged the two entities, ensuring that the community organization and the temple shared a visual connection while still operating as distinct entities. The result was a logo that embodied the essence of Sri Lankan culture with connective threads to the community and temple.
